Citizenship Key Stage 3
Citizenship will form an important part of your development into an adult. The things that you will learn in Citizenship will help you to become informed; express your views; find out how your community is organised and what you can do to influence how it works; recognise there are different communities at local, regional and national level and appreciate the importance of looking after the environment.
Citizenship is a very flexible subject. It is divided into 4 sections:
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Human Rights and Social Responsibility
- Equality and Social Justice
- Democracy and Active Participation
These 4 areas must be covered across Years 8, 9 and 10. The individual teacher or class can decide how they cover it and in which order.
