Modern Languages Key Stage 3
The Modern Languages Department offers French to all pupils. Spanish and German are options at various stages of Key Stage 3 and 4. Our Welcome Europe course offers a vocational start to learning a new language and broadens the remit of the Languages Department in preparing pupils for courses at home and abroad within the European Union. Increasing the choices available to pupils in leaving school and contributing to their employability are of fundamental importance to the Language Department. We help to broaden pupils awareness of International issues in their lives and seek to equip them to be fully rounded individuals through enhanced communication skills.

SKILLS
All the topics are delivered with the aim of developing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. We also use ICT. Social skills and communication skills play an important part of pupil development.
