WHAT A SCHOOL!!! I ATTENTED THE MODEL FROM 1990 TO 1995, LETS JUST SAY IT WAS EVENTFUL, I REMEMBER BEING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE STERN MR THOMPSON ON MORE THAN A FEW OCCASIONS... LITTLE DID HE KNOW THAT WE WOULD MEET A FEW YEARS LATER WHILST HE WAS BUILDING AN APARTMENT IN BANGOR, I WAS ONE OF THE MAIN CONTRACTORS WORKING ON HIS SITE...

LETS JUST SAY I THINK HE WAS SLIGHTLY ALARMED WHEN I SUGGESTED THAT THE GABLE WALL WAS SUBSIDING AND THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REBUILT (A WIND UP OF COURSE FOR PAST PUNISHMENTS), LETS JUST SAY THE LOOK ON HIS FACE WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH PUNISHMENT FOR ONE DAY, BUT HE TOOK IT IN GOOD SPIRIT WHEN ALL WAS EXPLAINED.....

I attended the school from 1985 -1991 and have great memories of the time I was there. Sorry to hear about Ernie passing.

I haven't seen what the new school looks like but will do some day.

Very sad to hear of Ernie's death - a great man. I'll never forget the rugby at Mount Pleasant and the cane I used to get!!

Recently visited the school after 32 years away! Memories came flooding back as I stood in the old Assembly Hall and walked the old corridors. Could visualise Mr Davis standing on the stage tearing strips of some poor boy who had stepped out of line!!

Great to see such a first-class modern school being built in it's place. The current boys deserve the best.

Started in 1976. Came from Glenwood Primary (Woodvale Primary before that). Class 1A. Unfortunately had to leave during my second year as family moved to Scotland. The mixed comprehensive system there was a shock to the system after the Boys Model !!

I was the fastest runner in the year. The other boys nicknamed me 'Juantoreno' after the great Cuban sprinter at that time. Won the N.I. boys 100m and 200m gold medal representing the school. Of course they put me on the wing for the rugby team. Remember scoring a lot of tries that year.

Would love to hear from any other boys who started in 1976, especially from 1A or the rugby team.

Living in Scotland. Financial Services Manager for a large US company now.

I served my time back in the 70's; left in '76. We had some great teachers...they were actually a fun crowd believe it or not. Mr Stevenson (History), Miss Fry (Biology) and Mr. Cannon (Geology)...they made it worth going to school!! Want to say hello to "Smiler" Stewart, Alistair Sharpe and Grahame Lewis if they ever pass by here.

I'm now living in Florida, but I'd love to get back and have a look around the school...it will have changed a hell of a lot.

I attended the Model 1995 - 2002. Great time at the Model and the teachers were great and supportive from day one. I stayed on to do advanced studies and was glad I did. I loved the Art department whilst i was there.

I was at the Model 1995-2000. The guys that taught me were great, all those memories e.g. Millsy and the trip to the World Cup 1998, some cracking matches Brazil, Italy and Argentina and of course the Cadets the most missed memory.

I attended the Model on the Cliftonville Rd from 1939 to 1945. I have many fond memories from there. Mr Meneely was the Headmaster in those days (known as bull dog) but in those days they won many scholarships - that was how you got into High School. A couple of the teachers I remember were Miss Ferguson, Miss Haslett, Mr Davidson, Mr Wylie, Mr Malachy and Mr Stevenson I presently live in Canada.
