School Council

WHO IS IN IT?
All pupils in our school have the opportunity to stand in an election to become a school councillor. Two pupils from each year group, years 8-14, are selected to sit as members of the school council. The council includes 14 members who got the majority votes.

WHY?
Our school council acts as a link between teachers and pupils. We meet once a month to discuss issues and then we tell all pupils, all staff, SMT and the Headmaster.

TRAINING
All school councillors have been trained in their own particular roles and responsibilities.

ISSUES
Our school council is highly influential in the life of our school. We have been involved in choosing pupils furniture for our new school building. We have also chosen healthy foods for the vending machines, designed and promoted the new school coat, began recycling paper and currently got bike racks to encourage health and fitness.
