BBC Auditions

On Wednesday 11th February, eleven boys participated in the initial auditions for a project organised by Waddell Media called "Compose Yourself". Internationally renowned pianist Barry Douglas, the Camarata Orchestra and Belfast School of Music are coming together in a project to transform eight musicians into classical performers in just eight months, ending with a public performance alongside Camarata Ireland in October 2009. The eight young people will be chosen from the following schools - La Salle, Little Flower, St. Genevieve's, Malone College, Ashfield Boys' and the Boys' Model. The boys taking part in the auditions from our school were - David Ashe, Aaron Hunter, Curtis Coggle, Mark Beattie, Dillon Deane, Callum Sweetlove, James Glover, Uel Parkinson, Lee Martin, Daryn Ashe and John Stewart. All boys had to complete a number of musical tests and all looked particularly handsome as they gave a short interview on camera recorded by the BBC!!

Well done to David Ashe (12A2) who has been successful and will attend the next stage of auditions with Barry Douglas!
