On Thursday 12th March, nineteen boys headed off to the La Mon House Hotel at 7.00am for a special cross-community breakfast organised by The Ullan's Academy. The breakfast was held in order to give people the opportunity to come together to celebrate the life of St. Patrick. Pupils from Boys' Model performed on lambeg drum and fife together with a number of boys from St. Patrick's College who played tin whistles, flutes and guitars. After this 'traditional' performance the Boys' Model Samba Band played a piece to illustrate how we can appreciate many different cultures through music.
Paul Clarke from UTV received a special award and Rev. Dr. I.K.Paisley gave one of the speeches on The Legacy of St. Patrick. Over 200 people attended the breakfast and we all thoroughly enjoyed the full Ulster Fry - very tasty!!!!!!
