The boys from Year 8 are staring the new academic year in Science by completing the initial “I’m a scientist now!” introduction to Science at the Belfast Boys’ Model School. The idea behind this is to get the boys involved in thinking and being like a scientist as soon as they possibly can!
They undertake many experiments and they have to earn their “Bunsen Burner License” before they are allowed to use a Bunsen in class!
The aim is for them to enjoy Science and to be able to explain scientifically the reasons for something occurring in the laboratory. Part of this process is getting their pictures taken whilst dressed in traditional white coat and goggles - what every good scientist would not be seen dead out of this season!!!
