The U18A team opened the new 3G pitch at Ballysillan leisure Centre with an 8-1 victory over Laurelhill. This is hopefully is the start of a good league run for the Model lads. They have a lot to live up to after last year’s Senior team who won the league and competed well in two cups, so the expectations are high!!
The match started with the Model going scoring in the first 10 minutes - Marcus Kane scored the first goal on the new pitch, this was followed up by Adam Wright who made it 2-0 then 3-0 from two quick corners. Before half-time the score was 4 -0, with a second goal from Marcus Kane.
The goals continued in the second half with Christopher Bunting making it 5-0 after a goal-mouth scramble. Marcus Kane, scored his third goal getting his first hat-trick of the season. The model kept pushing and scored another 2 goals from Christopher Bunting and Glen Armstrong to make it 8-0. As the Model pushed for another goal, they were caught by Laurelhill who made it 8-1 just before the whistle.
