Lee Martin will leave on Sunday 8th November to go to Senegal for 17 days with Nicky Such and a group of African drummers. Lee has been part of Nicky's performance group "Afreeka" since he was in Primary School. The group are going to Senegal to learn African drumming skills, develop cross community skills, understand different cultures, work with peers of a similar age but in a different country, bring equipment to Senegalese schools and develop their language skills.
They will be bringing 3 computers to the schools in Senegal as well as a range of books and football shirts. We have also sent some pens and pencils to help those pupils who are not as well off as we are in this country.
We are looking forward both to hearing all about Lee's experience and learning new rhythms for our own African drummers when he returns on 24th November - have a great time Lee!!
