Belfast Boys Model School

On Wednesday 24th February 2010, the Alternatives group attended a showcase event at Belfast Activity Centre for the Youthbuild Initiative, which focuses on the Greater Shankill area of Belfast. This project works with young people from areas where the legacy of the troubles are prevalent. The Youthbuild programme allows participants to engage in activities and experiences that remove them from their immediate environment and encourages them to reach their full potential.

Young people from the Alternatives programme at Belfast Boys’ Model School demonstrated their outdoor pursuit skills to HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, which they gained through their participation on the award.
