Key Stage 4

GCSE Art and Design - CCEA

  • 60% Coursework portfolio. This is a creative body of work showcasing the pupil’s knowledge, understanding and skills in a variety of media. This culminates in the production of a portfolio and a final outcome.
  • 40% Externally set examinations.

Post 16

AS Art and Design - CCEA

  • 60% Coursework portfolio. This is a highly creative and exciting body of work showcasing the pupil’s knowledge, understanding and skills in a wide variety of media. This includes drawing, painting, textiles, printmaking and ICT. This culminates in the production of a pupil lead enquiry portfolio and a final outcome.
  • 40% Externally set examination. As above. Portfolio and a final outcome based on a theme set by the examination board.

A2 Art and Design - CCEA

  • 60% Coursework portfolio. This is a highly creative body of work showcasing the pupil’s knowledge, understanding and skills in a variety of media. This culminates in the production of a portfolio which is driven by the pupil and a final outcome. A written investigation of approximately 2000 words supported by visual images underpins the portfolio.
  • 40% Externally set examination. As above. Portfolio and a final outcome.
