Theo Burton, Year 13 in Belfast Boys' Model School was successful, after a presentation and interview on Saturday 16th December at the Europa Hotel , in attaining a place on the Belfast Rotary Club's 'Towards a Better Understanding' exchange project.  Theo, along with pupils from Grosvenor, St. Dominic's, Wellington College, Victoria College and Carrickfergus Grammar, will travel  to Highland Park, a suburb 30 minutes north of downtown Chicago,  at the end of March. The 8 day trip is funded by the Rotary Club.

The students are hosted by student families and it aims to create a better mutual understanding between different communities by studying conflict resolution. This includes finding ways to break down barriers among people, particularly young people, and learning how to reconcile differences. Six Northern Ireland students from different religions, schools and backgrounds are carefully selected to go on this exchange every other year while, in between, six Highland Park students visit Belfast.

Theo is a deserving winner and we are confident that he will maximise his experience and share the benefits on his return.
