Boys' Model and the Triple Crown...

Pupils and staff of the school were honoured to attend a civic reception with the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Nuala McAllister and representatives of the Irish rugby team on Wednesday afternoon in Belfast City Hall. This very special occasion was to celebrate the Ireland team’s recent successes in winning the 2018 Six nations, Triple Crown and the completing a Grand Slam for only the third time ever.

Speeches were made by Phillip Orr (President of the IRFU), the Lord Mayor, Nuala McAllister and Rory Best (Captain of the Irish rugby team) all marking historical event. The pupils were able to have an opportunity to converse with and have their photograph taken with a number of the Irish players as well as Head Coach, Joe Schmidt. It proved to be an inspirational afternoon, listening to some of the top sports stars in the country reflect on their recent achievements and look forward to next year’s World Cup.
