ERASMUS trip to Germany

The Year 13 ERASMUS students have returned from their final project meeting in Nurtigen, near Stuttgart in the south of Germany. It was a tremendous week working with our partner schools from Italy, Norway and our hosts - Germany. Activities included:

  • Building relationships at the start of the week followed through with class descriptions of our local area and school

  • Preparation for a Teaching lesson of refugee students in the local school took up most of the classroom sessions with everyone preparing lessons on how to get jobs in their own country.

  • Visits to the BASF plant for a guided tour of how much the chemical industry affects our daily lives and the highlight of the trip for many with the visit to The Mercedes manufacturing plant in Sindelfingen. The factory is immense with 40,000 of a workforce.

Friday finished the week's events when the boys took part in a teaching lesson to inform refugees on how they would get information, jobs and help in the UK. The trip home on Saturday included travelling on the German ICE train which was reaching speeds over 250km per hour.
