School Context for UCAS applicants from Belfast Boys' Model School

In 2017-2018, Belfast Boys’ Model School has 63 Year 14 pupils, following a mix of BTEC Level 3 Diplomas, Subsidiary Diploma and GCE A Level qualifications. Pupils studying Sports Studies follow a Cambridge Technical course. Pupils studying Business Studies at Belfast Boys’ Model School, study BTEC Extended Certificate in Business Studies and one pupil at our consortium partner, studies the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma. All pupils study for the equivalent of three A Levels and also have the opportunity to complete the Level 3 Certificate of Personal Effectiveness Level 3.  Pupils also have the opportunity to re-sit GCSE English and/or Maths, if they have not attained it already. Pupils may opt to repeat AS exams, where appropriate and a small number may repeat Year 13, some with new subjects.  A small number of pupils take qualifications within our Area Learning Community and through our consortium with Belfast Model School for Girls. Predicted grades are made based on a marry of external data and internal assessments.
