Key Stage 3
Year 8

Instruments of the Orchestra - Pupils will learn about families of instruments - the sound they produce and how they are played.

Building Bricks - Pupils will understand the concepts of .... before the musical words that are there at the minute.
Year 9
-
Time Keeping – pupils will learn the meaning of beat, pulse & rhythm and should also develop an understanding of note values and time signatures.

Introduction to DJing – Pupils will develop their understanding and knowledge of DJing - types of DJs, equipment used and specific musical techniques required to DJ.

Reggae Music - Pupils will learn about the success of Bob Marley and significant musical features of Reggae.
Year 10

Dance Music - pupils will gain a knowledge of musical genres and concepts relating to dance music.

Film Music - pupils should understand and recognise musical concepts related to film music. Also learn about the various effects created through film music by participating in listening and composing activities.
Pupils will also have the opportunity to learn and develop practical skills using a variety of percussion instruments, African drums, Ukulele and DJ decks.
