BOYS’ MODEL SCHOOL SUCCESSES
These figures and comments were included in a speech given by Mary Montgomery the Principal at the Fund’s 10th Anniversary Lunch in October 2025 and are presented by the Bursary Fund as further evidence of the excellence of the teaching and learning at the Boys’ Model . Everyone involved with the Bursary Fund is proud to be associated with the school and would wish all the boys and the staff continuing success in the future.

High Free School Meals Entitlement – almost 60%, NI non-grammar average is 32%
High levels of SEN – 15% compared to NI average of 8%
Pupil attainment far exceeds what is expected.

If an SEN pupil in NI, irrespective of sector, 5 GCSEs A*-C Inc Eng & Maths = 32%
SEN pupil at BBMS achieving 5 GCSEs A*-C Inc Eng & Maths =83%
A Level
If an SEN pupil in NI, irrespective of sector, 3 A Levels A*-C = 12%
SEN pupil at BBMS achieving 3 A Levels A*-C =100% this year but averages in high 80s usually.

Example
Boy from single parent family, for whom the school had to provide clothing and travel fare to attend University interview ,subsequently successful and awarded Bursary for STEM, so will receive £1200 for each of his first 3 years.
