On Saturday 21st October 2017 8 pupils met up with Mr Stevenson at 8:00a.m. at school to travel to the NI Schools’ Coarse Fishing Competition, held on the Lower Bann between Portglenone and Bellaghy. One team of four comprised  four Year 8 pupils from Lewis, Zach, Adam and Harrison. The other team was made up of Charlie and 3 Year 8 pupils - Cain, Matthew and Lewis. Many of the younger pupils had never fished before. The event was brilliantly organised and everyone enjoyed the day, despite getting soaked! Congratulations to Charlie on winning a Section prize and to Lewis Strain for his Spot prize.

Heart Start

On 23rd October 500 pupils were trained in how to preform CPR - a skill for life.  The British Heart Foundation had arranged on the 16/10/17 to train as many people as possible in this skill.  However, due to bad weather we had to cancel this event on school on the 16th, but rearranged it on the 23rd.  This event was  a great success and pupils and some members of staff all engaged with great enthusiasm - as shown in the pictures!

The target reached last year by BHF was 100,000 this year they are hoping to reach 150,000.
