Cycle Against Suicide

The Cycle Against Suicide event is taking place in Belfast on Wednesday 26th April and we have been chosen as the anchor school for the city. Over 300 cyclists are expected to take part and will arrive at the City Hall on Tuesday 25th April.  After a reception with the Lord Mayor, the cyclists will cycle to B.R.A. where a number of pupils and staff from our ALC will join them.  From here they will all cycle to BBMS.  In school the main event will run in the Hall from 9.30-10.30am with 200 pupils and staff joining us from other schools, along with the 300+ cyclists

Many groups within our school are going to be involved in the main event - Harmony North Choir, Anti-bullying Ambassadors, ‘Signz’ group and a range of visiting speakers.  At approximately 10.45am the cyclists will depart BBMS with pupils from our ALC lining the route out of school.  It is going to be a spectacular event to raise awareness of the help and support available for anyone battling depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts or those bereaved by suicide.
