On Tuesday 19th June 2018 Yr 9 pupils from Boys’ Model and Mercy College attended a series of workshops related to the richness of culture in Northern Ireland after studying cultural diversity in Learning for Life and Work classes. The day was facilitated by the Shared Education Partnership between the schools and Artsekta. Artsekta is a multi-award winning cultural organisation that works to develop intercultural relationships at the heart of the community.
A range of activities was undertaken by the pupils including African Drumming, an insight into Irish history and music and Martial Arts. Both schools really enjoyed their day and gained a greater insight into how other cultures in Northern Ireland enrich our society.
